1. Your provider should be a licensed psychotherapist certified to practice Ketamine and Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy by the Integrative Psychiatry Institute.
2. He or she should be trained and experienced in the practice of six traditional psychotherapies that you may or may not know about, each of which can be enriched and deepened by Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy:
- Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
- Emotionally Focused Psychotherapy for Couples
- Internal Family Systems Therapy Gottman Couples Therapy
- Gottman Coples Therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and
- The Imago Couples Dialogue
3. It’s absolutely crucial that your provider always be there with you before, during and after you’ve taken Ketamine.
4. Your provider should know who you really are and enough about the different ways of taking Ketamine to be able to suggest dosages that are appropriate for you.
5. Above all, your provider should have the compassionate curiosity, empathy and interpersonal skills to help you weave and integrate insights from your Ketamine journeys using the above psychotherapies into your everyday life.
